Water gathers speed on these grades

The streets plunge from the ridge beside Christ Church Cathedral toward the harbour, and the drains plunge with them. Waste runs fast downhill, then strands where the line flattens near the main, so chokes on this ridge tend to sit at the bottom of a run.

Clay from the 1800s still carries the old rows

Terraces off Tyrrell Street drain through earthenware laid when the suburb was young, and soil creeping down the slope has moved those joints for generations. The converted flats carry water heaters of very different ages, some squeezed onto stairwell landings, into balcony cupboards or up on the roof. When one lets go up high, water travels down through every level below, so the supply gets isolated first.

Salt on the wind

How fast can a plumber get to me?

Can you fix drains under old terraces without excavation?

Where the camera shows clay that is cracked but still round, a resin reline seals it from inside and the old masonry stays untouched. You watch the video first and decide. A length that has caved in has to be dug out, and we price that too.

Do you work in strata and apartment buildings?

Yes, and the census counted 61.3 per cent of dwellings here as flats. Residents hear from us ahead of the visit, and managers get pictures and a line-by-line bill. If water is dripping through a ceiling, call at once.

Which hot water systems do you install?
